Myaskovsky, Nikolai

Nikolai Yakovlevich Myaskovsky (1881-1950), Russian composer, he is sometimes referred to as the "father of Russian symphony", he studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, then later taught there, his music was influenced by Tchaikovsky, he composed 27 symphonies, orchestral works, chamber music(string quartets), and piano pieces(sonatas).
