Mulyavin, Vladimir

Vladimir Mulyavin (1941-2003), Belarusian rock musician and founder of the folk-rock band Pesniary, attended Sverdlovsk Music School and studied string instrument, left the school on his own and worked as a staff musician at different orchestras. In 1963 he worked for the Belarusian State Philharmonic. In 1968 he created the pop music group "Liavony", in 1970 he became the leader and renamed it to "Pesniary". He was awarded the title "People's Artists of USSR".
