Monestel, Alejandro

Alejandro Monestel (1865-1950), Costa Rican organist and composer, studied at the Brussels Conservatory, returned to Costa Rica and became the organist at a cathedral, served as director of the Philharmonic Society, taught at the National School of Music, in 1894 he founded the Music School of St. Cecilia. He wrote 5 cantatas, 14 masses, and songs
