Mikhailov, Maxim

Maxim Mikhailov(1893-1971), Russian singer, he had no musical training in the beginning, but was directly recruited as a singer by Soviet authorities, and sent to Bolshoi Theatre for formal training. He was a renowned interpreter of bass roles of Russian operas, such as Susanin in Glinka's "A Life for the Tsar". He was Stalin's favorite singer.
