Meyerbeer, Giacomo

Giacomo Meyerbeer(1791-1864), German composer whose career largely pursued in France, studied music privately in Berlin and Darmstadt, he was one the creators of the French grand opera. His operas gained immediate successes in France, he composed operas (L'Africanne, Les Huguenots etc).
