Melikian, Spiridon

Spiridon Melikian(1880-1933), Armenian composer and musicologist, studied at Gevokian seminary in Etchmiadzin with Komitas, went to Berlin to continue studying, later taught there. Returning to Armenia he was one of the founders and active members of the Armenian choir society and the Armenian musical commonwealth in Tiflis. His musicology works have a perpetual historical significance and have repeatedly served as a theme source for Armenian composers.
