Melik-Pashayev, Alexander

Alexander Melik-Paschayev(1905-1964), Soviet-Armenian conductor, he studied at the Tbilisi Conservatory and studied conducting in Leningrad Conservatory later. In 1921 he joined the Tbilisi Opera as leader of orchestra and later became conductor. In 1931 he joined the Bolshoi Opera Theater as conductor until 1962. He also guest conducted at the Royal Opera House and Covent Garden in London.
